Fall Update: Annual Meeting and Elections
FALL UPDATE:
The Board of Directors would like to pass along a fall update, which includes the annual meeting notice, fall golf schedule, Board of Director (BOD) elections, and some general course updates including the fall club calendar.
The annual meeting will be held Monday, September 30th at 6:00 p.m. at the Country Club. Annual updates from various committees will be provided and the results of the Board of Directors election will be released. Attendance by all CCB members is encouraged.
Fall Golf Schedule
Due to the changing seasons, expect early tee times to be shifted 30 minutes later in the morning effective on Monday, Sept. 2. The first tee time of the day will be at 7:30 a.m. during the month of September. Effective on Oct. 1, the first tee time will be at 8 a.m. Evening tee times will also be adjusted accordingly.
The tee sheet has been very busy so please remember to book your tee times in advance. We try to get everyone out there, but the only way to guarantee we can is if you schedule a tee time.
Please also remember that standing tee times are only valid until Oct. 1. This is due to repeated “no call, no shows” over the past few years as the days get shorter and a little colder. Please touch base with the Pro Shop if you plan to continue to utilize your standing tee time so we can make arrangements. If these are routinely not used, they will be forfeited so we can keep the course open for play.
An update to the fall calendar is included below.
CCB Annual Meeting and Board Elections
Looking to get involved? There are SEVEN open positions on the CCB Board of Directors up for election this fall. The CCB board is comprised of 13 members, each of whom serve a three-year term. Four of these elected positions will serve full three-year terms beginning on Jan. 1, and three will fill vacated positions for the remaining one or two year terms. Each board member serves on one or more of the following committees: Pro Shop, Tournament, Greens, Membership/Marketing, House and Finance.
To run for a board position please submit your name and a brief bio to countryclubofbarre@gmail.com by Sept 19th. Elections will take place virtually from Sept 22nd-Sept 29th with elections results being presented at the annual meeting on Sept. 30th.
Rates will soon be set for 2025 and presented at the annual board meeting. Updated membership applications will be available soon thereafter.
For those that aren’t aware, the Pro Shop is now member owned. All money spent at the CCB Pro Shop goes back to the club. Our head PGA Professional, Joe Dingledine, has worked diligently to get the Pro Shop stocked up with all the equipment that we need. He is also able to take custom orders and bring in many items we don’t carry in stock.
We encourage members to spend money in our Pro Shop instead of somewhere else. As an additional note, Pro Shop credit from 2024 will be rolled over into next year, but to help keep our merchandise fresh and costs down, we encourage anyone with Pro Shop credit to spend it prior to the end of this season.
ANY PRO SHOP CREDIT ISSUED PRIOR TO 2024 WILL EXPIRE AT THE END OF THIS SEASON.
