Meet the Board Members
Cam Arnold
Although I played golf occasionally when I was younger, it wasn’t until I came back to Vermont after a few years out of state that I caught the bug. I joined CCB around 2014 and was elected to the Board in 2022. My first year on the Board gave me an understanding of the Club’s financial foundation and how it functions. Off the course, I work in the commercial banking industry with Northfield Savings Bank, where I see community impact at its highest. As a Board member, I bring my skills and experience to bear on the financial side of what it takes for the Club to operate successfully. Having a young son, I cherish the time I am able to spend with him at the golf course and watch him grow to appreciate the game as I do. I am excited about where we are headed as a community of golfers and look forward to providing as much financial literacy as I can.
Kent Bigglestone
Kent is a Barre native who also spent part of his growing up days in Essex. His grandfather was an avid golfer, but Kent did not get fully hooked on the game until he began playing at Jacksonville University in Florida, where he graduated with a degree in Business. Kent, along with his brother, owns and operates Capitol Stationers in Montpelier – the third generation of their family to do so since the store was established in 1950. He has been a member at CCB since 2007 and joined the Board in 2020. Kent serves on the Marketing/Membership Committee and chairs the Tournament Committee, which organizes member tournaments and coordinates events and outings sponsored by outside groups. One of his primary goals as a member of the Board is to help ensure that CCB members as well as guests have an enjoyable experience every time they visit the Club.
Tom Collins
Tom Collins is a native Vermonter, born and raised in South Barre. After attending Central Connecticut College, Tom joined Northfield Country Club for several years before becoming a member at CCB. That was 48 years ago, and he never left! During his working career, Tom was an entrepreneur who founded, operated, and sold several small local businesses. He has been a CCB Board member for two different stretches of time, and is now five years into his second stint, serving as the Club’s Treasurer, and heads up the Finance Committee. He loves to play golf, believes that we are lucky to have such a beautiful golf course, and cares deeply about keeping the Club on solid financial ground. Tom can be reached at 802-272-8738 or at tbcollins@charter.net
Jeff Dukette
Jeff is a native Vermonter who graduated from Northfield High School in 2007 and currently lives in Barre. He earned a B.S. in biochemistry at Saint Michaels College and a Masters in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven. He spent a few years in Connecticut after receiving his Masters, then returned to Vermont to begin his career at the Vermont Forensic Laboratory. Since 2014 Jeff has coached high school baseball as well as ice hockey at the youth, high school, and ACHA club hockey levels. Jeff was a member at Northfield Country Club for most of his youth, joined CCB in 2019, and was elected to the CCB Board in 2021. As President of the Board, he is a member of the Executive Committee, and he also serves on the Finance, Tournament and Marketing committees. In his free time, Jeff enjoys playing golf, camping, exploring outdoors, and playing games with friends.
Shane Hickey
I was raised in Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 2013. I have a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Political Science from the University of Vermont. After finishing school, I opted to stay in Burlington and work as a Financial Consultant with NBT Investment Services. While I continue to work in Burlington, I relocated back to Barre in 2022. After being a member for six years, leaving and then returning, I understand how fortunate we are to have such a fantastic course, staff, and membership. I was elected to my first term in the fall of 2023 and now serve on the Tournament and Pro Shop committees. As a new board member, I am excited to learn about the needs of the membership and contribute fresh ideas.
Ryan Knapp
I live in Plainfield with my wife and toddler. We moved here after building our house in 2018. I became a member of CCB in 2019 and began serving on the Board in 2021. I enjoy the mental challenge of golf, the social aspect of the golf community, and the exercise I get from walking our beautiful course. I grew up in central Vermont and love the outdoors – hunting, fishing, hiking, and close-knit communities. I graduated from the University of Vermont in 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Geography and a minor in Geospatial Technologies. I have built a career with the Agency of Transportation focusing on Intelligent Transportation Systems and traffic management. I serve on the Executive Committee and on the Greens and the Marketing/Membership Committees, and I am particularly interested in maintaining our amazing greens. My goal as a Board member is to make sure that the unique golf experience CCB offers continues for generations to come. I am excited to be a CCB member and look forward to introducing my daughter to the game in the very near future.
Eric Lajeunesse
I’ve been a member at the Country Club of Barre since 1994. I started out as a junior member and attended the junior clinics in the summertime. This was a great way to make the game fun and learn the fundamentals of the game at a young age. I’ve had the pleasure of working on many course projects over the years with Billy and Mitch Evans. I sit on the Greens and House Committees and enjoy collaborating on the design and execution of different aspects of the course and how we can make the course a little better each year through tree clearing, new tee complexes, and bunker renovation. We look forward into the future and try to position the CCB as a club people will want to join and continue to enjoy playing.

“When I was a toddler, my dad cut one of my grandmother’s clubs down to about two feet for me. He would carry me around the course on his shoulders and let me hit an occasional shot. Those are my earliest memories of CCB.”
Once Josh was old enough for his first set of clubs, his dad got him a junior membership at the Club, where he participated in clinics and tournaments under the guidance of PGA Professional, Roger King. Josh attended Spaulding High School and competed on the golf team all four years, getting to play golf courses throughout the state. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Norwich University in 2014 and then joined his family’s small business, Richard J. Wobby Jewelers. Now he and both of his parents – Paul and Mary Jane – are proud members of CCB. Josh was first elected to the Board in 2019 and became Vice President in 2020.
Charlie Norway
Growing up in Barre and having been around CCB since I was a kid coming to junior clinics, it’s exciting to have a role as a board member. Golfing some while playing lots of other sports growing up, it wasn’t until after high school that I really started to enjoy golf more. Off the greens, I work in town helping manage my family’s electrical business and enjoy playing hockey and spending time with my family and four-legged friends. I serve on the Tournament and House committees now and enjoy being able to help keep our course and clubhouse in great shape for all our members and guests.
Devin Smith
Devin grew up in East Barre and became a junior member at CCB when he was 15. After graduating from Johnson State College, Devin began a professional career at National Life, where he continues to work 22 years later. He first joined the CCB Board in 2013 out of a desire to contribute to the Club’s success and ensure its long-term viability. Devin initially served two terms on the Board, at one point heading up the Tournament Committee. He stepped down in 2019 to take on the challenge of becoming co-owner/operator of Fairways & Greens, the restaurant that serves CCB and the surrounding community. Devin returned to the Board in 2022 and is Vice President of the Board. He also serves on both the House and Tournament committees.
Cathy Systo
I live in Barre Town with my husband Paul and my three dogs. I enjoyed a successful career as a financial advisor for Edward Jones and retired in 2016. After retirement I realized I needed to find something to occupy my time and challenge me both physically and mentally, so I took up golf – which certainly checks all those boxes! CCB has become a central focus of my life, and I stepped forward for a position on the Board in the fall of 2022 as a way to make a contribution to this unique community. As a female who’s fairly new to the sport I’m especially interested in growing the game by attracting more women and girls to CCB and helping to offer them a positive membership experience. I look forward to seeing you on the course!
