When the Sun Shines

When the sun comes out the course lights up. The weather has cooperated quite a bit this spring and it’s been a busy year already at the Country Club of Barre.

To help us ensure that everyone has a good experience, please arrive at least 20 minutes before your tee time and don’t forget to check in at the Pro Shop. We’re asking all players to let us know you’ve arrived.

Schedule Back to Normal

Weather permitting, we’re back to summertime hours beginning on Saturday, May 11. Tee times begin at 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday and 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. On busy weekend mornings watch your email for news of frost delays.

Sign Up in the Pro Shop – Men and Women

Grab your partner and sign up for the Maurice Kelley Tournament May 18 and 19, and men’s and women’s leagues starting in late May. Maruice Kelley signup closes as 6 p.m. May 12. Tuesday Men’s league starts on May 28. Ladies will play on Wednesdays beginning on May 29.

Junior League Starting May 29

New this year for the youngsters, we’re looking for 12 junior members to play in a junior league on Wednesday evenings.  Play will begin with a 5:30 p.m. shotgun. There is no charge for the league, but all players must have their own set of golf clubs and some idea of how to get around the golf course on their own.

Mizuno Fitting May 11

The Mizuno rep will conduct the first fitting of the year on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Sign up for a slot in the Pro Shop.

New Cart Procedure

Along with our new fleet of carts we have a new procedure.  Each cart is parked in its own spot.  The key numbers match the cart, and we rotate through the entire fleet systematically.

You will need to come into the Pro Shop to get your key, and please be sure that the key and cart match.  For your convenience, the carts are parked in numeric order.  Thanks to all the members for getting used to the new procedure.

Check Out the New Merch!

Shirts, clubs, golf balls, rain gear, shoes, range finders and much more are rolling in the door every day this time of year.  Also look for the new merchandise bearing our special 100th Anniversary logo.

We’re the biggest retailer of golf equipment and supplies for many miles around and our members own the golf shop, meaning that any profits resulting from sales in the pro shop accrue to the club.  Tell your friends they can skip the ride to Burlington or Lebanon and find everything they need right here.  As long as UPS and FedEx can navigate the construction zones, we’ll keep it coming! Our prices can’t be beat!

New Member Policy

So far we have more than 30 brand new members this year and more coming in daily.  Help the club and help yourself by saying hello, and maybe find a new player for your group!

CCB offers an attractive introductory rate for any golfer who was not a member in either of the last two years. As well, current members who recruit a new member receive a $100 credit in the pro shop.  If you know of a friend who’s thinking of joining, please reach out to him or her. If they join, you get a bonus. If you qualify tell one of the Joe’s in the Pro Shop and  we will issue you a gift card, compliments of CCB.

Throw in the Towel!

If you’re throwing away your old towels, throw them our way!  We’re in dire need of some old towels to use in the bag room. These don’t need to be your finest linens. We need towels for the BAG ROOM!  Just drop them off.

…And your recycled golf balls

Do you have a bucket in the garage that collects all the used golf balls you find on the course?  Clean out the garage and bring the used golf balls to the bag room.  We can use them on the range. Thank you very much.
